A Whole New World

This is our first gig of 2022 and there are a lot of things that are new. Firstly, a brand new PA. We decided that we will use all the money we are going to get from April’s gigs to buy a PA system rather than hiring one each time or relying on whatever equipment is at the venue. This will be a significant purchase for the band so we’re hoping we get a lot of use out of it!
Then there is our new drummer. This will be his first gig with Route 66 so wishing him all the best. There will be a few new songs in the set as well, just to help the drummer settle in by avoiding some of the more complex numbers for the time being.
Finally, this is also the first proper outing for my Jazz Bass. I’ve enjoyed playing it when we’ve practiced, so looking forward to hearing how it sounds in a full on band mix.
Just about an hour to go before we start, so time to tune up, have a drink and get ready to rock!
