Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

JR and Archie went into town to pick up a coat that JR had ordered. She likes to get items delivered to the shop (instead of home) in case she wants to return them (ie leave it there). Which she did. Then she went to another shop and bought the coat that she really wanted.

It’s great that Archie likes shopping - it’s a good walk there and back (16,089 steps) and he likes the shops (but not the cafes). Everyone makes a fuss of him and declares that they couldn’t bring their dog shopping.

I decided to go to the cafe when they’d gone. Better flat whites, and better scones than at home. Free wifi, so I browsed the news, listened to a podcast and started my new audiobook. Came home, checked the fridge and my (small) collection of recipes on my iPad, and, pretending I was ‘cooking’, chucked a few things into the slow cooker. Quite tasty it was too.

Hazel popped over in the afternoon, to see the new coat. She’s in the midst of packing and getting organised for her Big Trip to Japan!

Will watch the final SNP debate tonight - it’s riveting viewing, because they just slang each other off. Disagreements have never been allowed before when Nicola had her iron grip on things, but it’s all coming apart now.

JR ‘forgot’ to get a shot of Archie down town or in the Gardens. So sorry - another scone shot, but I’ve included the menu to add interest - what would you choose?
