Tent Caterpillars
Oh, what a glorious Spring day we had: sunny with just the right amount of breeze. Our high temp got up to 85°F but I was inside before it got that warm. And all I had to do was chill with the grand pets. While enjoying breakfast on Kim’s deck, I noticed the tent caterpillars have made a couple nests in the wild cherry tree. I found a photo of what the mature moths look like for you. The nest looked to still be in the egg stage. Did not see any creepy crawlers. We erroneously called them gypsy moths when I was younger. I researched the differences today. The tent caterpillar moths are much less harmful to the environment. Kim said her family was also enjoying the lovely day outside. I made great progress cleaning out old e-mails and texts off my phone. Later in the afternoon, I made an easy ravioli pasta casserole and salad. We are going to Mass after dinner as part of our Holy Week tradition. Then more time with Trek and Shadow. Sure hope you had a nice day. The meds have helped me tremendously. Am almost back to 100%. Thanks for your visit. Be safe. “On every stem, on every leaf,... and at the root of everything that grew, was a professional specialist in the shape of grub, caterpillar, aphis, or other expert, whose business it was to devour that particular part.” - Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.
