Diary of an Edinburgher

Lunch in Town

Another cold, windy day, with weak sun in the afternoon, and only warm in the back garden in the afternoon. This is getting tedious.

Gill is still snuffling with her cold/allergy, and so didn't go with JR to the gym class. But she and Archie accompanied the gym bunnies along the road.

I went to the gym, and it was bliss. Well, the sound system was, not the exertion bits. There was a class going on, and so they'd turned off the MUZAK. When the class finished, the instructor headed for the computer to turn on the music, but I happened to be right next to it, and suggested that, as there were only TWO people in, both of whom had their own earpods, ie their own playlist. He agreed that this was a reasonable proposition. So I didnt need my volume up at a 'dangerous' level. The pool was almost empty too, and it looked most inviting.

Gill and I took Archie round the Links, and when JR came home we went into town. JR had a bit of a drama with a temporary crown falling out and had to go back to the dentist, but we met her on the bus into town. We went to Ka-Pao in the St James centre for lunch. Those corn ribs are EPIC!

I decided to come home after this, but the others went shopping. I enjoyed sitting in the back garden in the warm sun, out of the cold wind. I've started my new book (Strange Sally Diamond, by Liz Nugent) but - no reflection on the book, which I'm very much enjoying, I kept dozing off and having to go back and re-listen. I then took Archie for another walk. (12,233 steps!!)

A very delicious Ottolenghi meal for tea to round off the day.

Here's the ladies trying to look warm, and not really succeeding...
