Diary of an Edinburgher

Result!

Gill, our visitor, took Night Nurse before bed and had a better sleep, although still coughing in the morning. She declared that she was going back to bed for the day, but appeared a bit later feeling better, but decided to take a Covid test... POSITIVE!

However, she's over the worst (and it was just a cold, really) and will travel to Copenhagen with a mask on tomorrow. We'll take a test tomorrow. Or maybe I'll go for my booster before I take a test...

JR went to the gym, and I took Archie to the Links, via Pip's house, where we collected him for a walk too. I was dressed like winter - woolly hat, scarf, warm jacket. Even for Scotland, it's crazy June weather.

Gill had recovered enough to be keen to take a dander out round the shops of Bruntsfield. I was happy to stay at home and look after the doggies. In fact, Pip went home about 1.30 when his mum was due home from work, and Archie and I took another walk round the Links. I'm not going so far today, because I was really really tired yesterday (over 12,000 steps!). Didn't go to the gym either. I listened to my audiobook while walking. I find that if I sit down to listen, then I just fall asleep. Surely this can't be right? I've spent quite a bit of time whizzing back through the chapters till I recognise something.

The girls came back mid afternoon, having been shopping and coffee-ing. Gill went to lie down on her sunny afternoon bed, JR took Archie out to Waitrose to get a few things, and I watched 'Escape to the Country' and 'A Place in the Sun' and read the papers. But what's this I see?? I KNOW those people!! Yes, the people looking for a house in Portugal were a couple we met on the cruise last year! How exciting. JR arrived back in time to see them putting an offer in on a house.
