The unexpected BBQ

Another lovely warm, sunny day (it's almost getting boring with it's predictable good weather....not!).

No 1 was off strutting her stuff at the Basketball championships again, and No 3 was at a birthday party, and No 2 was in a teenage huff.

Mr S and I hit the camping shops and bought a new tent ! We don't go camping often, and only for a few nights at a time...but with the sunny weather holding out, I'm hoping for more nights under canvas than last year!

Later we arrived to pick up No 3 from the party, and were invited in for a glass or two...next thing the BBQ was being fired up and it was the warmest, giggliest impromptu BBQ this year ! (only BBQ this year - but fingers crossed).

What a great evening. The usual Sunday night routine of cooking, washing up, homework, school bag packing, ironing, baths etc was abandoned. Instead, we slumped in a sunny garden and poured liquid refreshments down our parched throats!

It means that tomorrow the kids go to school a bit dirty - but sometimes you have to grab the moment !
