When The Fog Rolls In

The band has got a new toy - a fairly impressive smoke machine! We’re a long way from home tonight, playing up in Whitehaven, which is a good 60 miles from home. And it’s not exactly well lit dual carriageway all the way there. A good hour and a half’s drive on single carriageway roads, mostly in the dark.
And it’s a bit of a strange venue we’ve ended up in. Obviously set up for live music (stage/pa/lights/etc) but I’m not sure what they’re used to as we’ve had thrash metal blaring out whilst we’ve been setting up.
First set done, and it seems to have gone down okay although there’s only about a dozen people in here! Don’t know if it gets busier later on - we shall have to wait and see.
I think I shall take the long way home via the A66 and M6. It’s about 20 miles longer but the roads are faster so should be home at the same time but without the stress of negotiating the twisty dark roads between Keswick and Ambleside.
