London

We headed up to London late morning after a slowish start.  We were due to meet SIL at 2.00 but I suggested to OH that we visit the restaurant that we had booked for No.2’s 30th celebrations.  I had booked online and seen reviews but wanted to visit.  I was less than impressed with the outside but once inside it was a revelation - dating back to 1700’s full of charm and character and our private dining room will be perfect for family meal.  We stayed for a glass of wine and plate of cheese before heading off to the theatre for matinee.

It was not my choice but Guys and Dolls was entertaining and the stage set and ‘immersive ‘ element were well done (if not 30 minutes too long - I always prefer musicals where I know some of the songs and only recognised two of the numbers?).  Nevertheless good afternoon followed by nice meal at the Ivy Tower Bridge - consistently good although I deviated from my normal fish cake or blackened cod and went rogue with prawn and lobster cocktail with a side order of fries!

Good day.
