Marshes, and a sunbow
NY Backblip 5
Another lovely day when we were very fortunate with the weather. Sunny and mild, quite Spring-like.
Having obtained an OS map of the area from the bookshop, we spent the morning walking on footpaths over the marshes. It was glorious - big skies and long views; space to unwind and breathe! Lots of birds - swans, gulls, waders, an avocet, a kingfisher - really made me wish I'd brought the camera! The last part of the walk, off the raised banks, was muddy to say the least, but hey, it'll wash off!
Towards the end of the walk, we were lucky enough to see a sun bow (extra).
In the afternoon we drove to a café a short distance away where we met up with Barry O'N, a long-time friend of MrM. Spent a very pleasant couple of hours catching up on his news, eating cake and drinking tea.
A meal in a fish restaurant this evening, and being by the sea I opted for the fish & chips - very good they were too.
