A blue sky and ‘prunus accolade’
After a swim I took Libby for a walk down by the river and there was blue sky. This is one of a batch of 20 new cherry trees that have been planted by our local council this year. There are at least three different varieties which I assume will flower at different times. This ‘prunus accolade’ is the first to flower. This is a playing field for the local secondary school but is also used by a local football and cricket clubs and lots of dog walkers who can also go round the perimeter and another shrubby/ wooded are to the river.
It was good to see the river back to ‘normal’ levels and not running so fast so several school rowing crews were out and a canoe group too
I did a lot of sorting in the garden before it became overcast and then later this afternoon it started to rain ( but later than was forecast)..but no blue sky now!
