......Darn Sowf...part 2.....

Awoke about 6.30...giving up the battle with the forgetful foam mattress.......not really a problem as breakfast at the hotel was between 7.30 and 8.30...... a fag......a stroll outside...and then back to wake the Boss at 7.00....we knocked for the F-in-L and Jean....at 7.10....and again at 7.25....and went down for breakfast......orange juice....cereal.....toast....coffee.....and the full English.....bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes and more toast.....fantastic.....except the Boss doesn't eat beans and I don't eat the food of Beelzebub...tomatoes. Still we will know better tomorrow.......the old folk appeared at 8.20!....and promptly confused the waiter with demands for honey to go with the toast and not quite a full English.....but as it was the Boss' Dad's 89th birthday i think he was allowed a little lee-way!

Off to Nigel and Clair's for me ....for 9.00...........Nigel and I were going fishing! The rest were off to see one of Jean's sons in the next county...at his nursery...no not little kids....the plant sort of nursery.

Nigel and I called for some bait and then drove to the lakes.......opting for the large coarse fishing lake...we selected a likely spot.....and I explained to Nigel about the two different sets of tackle I'd brought and the methods for each....he opted to try the tip method....I set the rod up...cast out and turned to get my float rod ready.....before I had got sorted Nigel had caught two fish!

He took to tip fishing like a duck to water....and when we called it a day at about 3.15 ...........I had caught 6 fish....and Nigel had caught about 26!....including two roach that tipped the scales at between 10oz and a pound!

It was a beautiful sunny day.....we had a good session and we chatted as if we had known each other for years...one of the best day's I've ever spent. The others arrived back....a drnk followed and then we headed back to the hotel, while Nigel prepared for a trip to Heathrow to pick up his family for the party...a big secret was to be revealed later this evening...and to Jean tomorrow ....and I was sworn to secrecy.

The four of us ate at the hotel....and the food was excellent..........we retired reasonably early......tomorrow was going to be along day!

Das vidanya moy padruga.

p.s the view is from our bedroom window....a wonderful old church....with a wonderful old clock....that strikes every hour!
