From the dark corner.....

There's bad news and there's good news...

I didn't go to bed until 2am this morning. I am ashamed to say I stayed up late watching reruns of the X Factor and Xtra Factor on ITV2 unfortuantely. I dozed through the programmes when they were originally on and was then wide awake when I should have been going to bed. Typical of me! My one and only New Year's Resolution - to have early nights - went out of the window.

Who am I trying to kid? I have been failing miserably since January the 2nd. This is why I look 200 most of the time due to my wild rock and roll lifestyle involving late nights and early mornings.

There was a man who worked in our office years ago - John Hall. They built Solihull Council House around him and he'd certainly been there millions of years when I started at 16. He had a little sports car he'd only drive in the summer. It was a Triumph Spitfire and it was in British Racing Green, my favourite colour and he drove me round the block in it one hot summer's day at lunchtime with the top down. THE CAR ROOF I MEAN! How rude you are!

Anyway I had longer hair then and being a typical teenager, I didn't have the brains to tie it back and went back into the office looking like I'd got a bird's nest on my head. John was also the one who laughed at the shorts I'd bought one day which I was showing one of the office ladies and said that I couldn't possibly wear them as I'd look like a two pin plug with my skinny legs. He was right too and I never did wear them.

John also said that one day I might get up and go to bed on the same day. Well, I have to be honest, I haven't managed it very often. The good thing is, I am still here (just about) while he died in agony with his toes falling off through various smoking type diseases. ( ) - The brackets represent a moment of silence.

Anyway, where was I? No idea. Oh yes! I was still downstairs by 9am having my cheese and onion omelette but I haven't done a fat lot today. I did make a sweetcorn chowder for dinner. It is sat in a pot on the cooker.

However, the bad news is that I don't fancy it now and am going to the Dog and Doublet for dinner instead. The good news is that being a stewy type thing, it will improve with flavour the longer it sits there and it will save me having to burn anything for dinner tomorrow, Monday, the most hideous of days.

There we go. I am done. Today's starling was quite irresistable I thought.

Track? I am just in the mood for my favourite Rolling Stones number - Paint It Black
