Tiny Tussock Reporting

Today was a fun day.
Nothing was planned so The Boss and Bossess just wandered the central city which was not really much of a hardship as it contained among other stuff a 4 story Mall with garden, Arts areas, A river park and any number of food and drink places.

We had a personal contact of the small child kind when we were going up an escalator and a toddler, probably fascinated with ME on the back of The Boss's Pak walked into the back of The Boss's legs and fell while exiting the escalator. There were thousands of apologies from the embarrassed parents but The Boss allowed me to introduce myself to the kiddy and the tears were soon gone.

Calgary has a mostly new feel to it but there are pockets of preservation and some wonderful Art and history areas in one of which the story of women being recognised as a "person" when Emily Murphy in 1916 was denied authority when appointed the first police magistrate in the British Empire because "person" in the relevant Act had always meant men.

This was righted in 1927 and of course nothing has been the same since….Opps…slip of the tongue there?

The Cupola that crowned the Central School was made part of the James Short Park by local Rotary Club support and contrasts the Bow building behind that was also featured in yesterdays Blip.

Calgary is not really a tourist city but has some wonderful facilities for the locals. Wherever we walked near the river the remains of flood damage was very evident. I don't think they will be caught again.
