The Manchester Monsoon
Today was all about getting out before the Manchester Monsoon hit. As the morning forecast looked OK, Audrey and I set off for Didsbury early doors via Chorlton Park's playground.
Met up with Jo (see pic) and I wolfed down a burger, chips and ice cream (helped by Audrey) for lunch along with a glass of red and Jo had a cup of tea - which didn't make me feel like a porky pig at all (not).
Stayed a little later than planned as the wine made me feel fuzzy and nice, plus it was lovely chatting to Jo. Audrey seemed happy enough. Then we obviously got caught in the Monsoon on the way home. Audrey was dry and happy (and asleep) in her pram under her rain cover, I was a drowned rat.
Broke the afternoon up with a walk down Beech Road in wellies, stopping to splash in every muddy puddle. Audrey is getting better at walking further and can now manage the whole route without being carried.
She's growing up so quickly. We even have little conversations now. "Are you hungry", "Yeah", "What do you want to eat?", "Bees", "Beans?", "Yeah" etc.
It is wonderful and I get the feeling the best is yet to come...
