Hello, my name's Kat, nice to meet you.

I'm nearly 30 and I've lived in Edinburgh for over a decade now, so long in fact that it finally feels like home.

I've always had an interest in photography.  Despite having had a very nice 35mm SLR for longer than I can remember, I've never really done more than use it as a "point and click" camera.  I've occassionally played with the settings to take some fire spinning pictures but up until I joined here, that was the extent of my photography.

I decided I wanted to learn more and actually learn how to use cameras to hopefully take better pictures.  

I was pointed in the direction of this website by the lovely Why.  My blips began life on an 8mp compact camera with 3x optical zoom.  I've recently upgraded and now they come from a chunkier 10mp with 18x optical zoom.
