Ice crystals

Today's the day …………………………. for frost

I don't think the temperature has risen much above freezing today, despite some glorious sunshine.  And it must have been very cold last night for these ice crystals to grow so big on the surface of a wooden garden table that has a criss-cross metal panel in the middle.

The extra shows the Cumstoun bridge over the Tarff, a tributary of the River Dee.
